Kay was selected as the Artist in Residence at Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Gardens for the 2024-2025 term. The programme aims to foster unity and evoke our connection with nature through art. During her residency, Kay explored the versatility of natural materials and integrated diverse design techniques. Her residency culminated in the ‘Waltz with the Misfits: In Steps with Nature’ art exhibition.
Kay sought to spark conversations about the interconnectedness between humans and nature. By creating five artworks using only foraged and harvested materials from Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden, she engaged directly with the environment. This project emphasised creative and sustainable textile techniques, deepening our connection with the land and embracing its cycles of change.
